The Waghalter Project
European tour and CD releaseFollowing a chance meeting with the grandson of Ignatz Waghalter, virtuoso violinist Irmina Trynkos, struck by the beauty and lyricism of the scores that were given to her, founded the Waghalter Project and developed it in collaboration with acclaimed British conductor Alexander Walker. The project aimed to popularise the music and persona of Polish-German Jewish composer Ignatz Waghalter.
Trynkos and Walker, together with pianist Giorgi Latsabidze and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, recorded Waghalter’s complete violin repertoire, released in October 2012. The CD release was accompanied by a series of concerts throughout Europe.
WildKat PR worked on a European campaign for the Project.
