BACKBertrand Rossi dirigera l’Opéra de Nice
C’est un retour au pays natal pour Bertrand Rossi, né à en 1973, fils de Louis Rossi qui fut Directeur administratif durant quatre décennies à l’Opéra Nice Côte d’Azur. Celui qui chantait tous les chœurs d’opéra enfant (raconte le blog du vieux Nice – Nice Matin) a été nommé par Christian Estrosi à la tête de cette institution lyrique qui cherche une stabilité dans sa direction depuis un certain temps. L’actuelle Directrice générale l’est par intérim, Anne Ginesta-Valentin qui succède à Éric Chevalier, celui-ci ayant été remercié (contre son souhait) au début de cette année 2019 à l’issue d’un contrat de trois ans. Même constat pour son prédécesseur, Marc Adam qui disait ne pas avoir eu d’explication suite au non-renouvellement de son premier mandat (qui suivait une période de deux années sans Directeur artistique). Il arrive à Nice avec comme première mission la composition de la prochaine saison, pour laquelle rien n’a encore été construit. Il est également chargé de réformer l’institution afin de lui donner une plus large visibilité.
Bertrand Rossi will lead the Nice Opera House
It is a return to the native country for Bertrand Rossi, born in 1973, son of Louis Rossi who was Administrative Director for four decades at the Nice Côte d’Azur Opera. The one who sang all the opera choirs for children (tells the blog of the old Nice – Nice Matin) was appointed by Christian Estrosi as the head of this lyrical institution that has been seeking stability in its direction for some time. The current Executive Director is acting, Anne Ginesta-Valentin, who succeeds Eric Chevalier, who was fired (against his wishes) at the beginning of this year 2019 after a three-year contract. The same is true for his predecessor, Marc Adam, who said he had no explanation following the non-renewal of his first term of office (which followed a two-year period without an Artistic Director). He arrives in Nice with as his first mission the composition of the next season, for which nothing has yet been built. It is also responsible for reforming the institution to give it greater visibility.
Hong Kong Philharmonic voted Gramophone’s Orchestra of the Year
Last night (16 October 2019), the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra was awarded Orchestra of the Year at the Gramophone Classical Music Awards after winning the public vote.
A shortlist of ten internationally renowned orchestras competed for the award, which was the only award to be decided by the public via an online poll. The HKPO triumphed, largely due to their ambitious recording of Wagner’s Ring Cycle. Chief executive of the HKPO Benedikt Fohr said: ‘We will bring this award back to our people in Hong Kong. They deserve it and they need it, especially in these difficult times.’
Julio Garcia Vico gewinnt Deutschen Dirigentinnenpreis
Im Finalkonzert des Deutschen Dirigentenpreises heute am 18. Oktober 2019 in der Kölner Philharmonie ist die Entscheidung gefallen: Julio García Vico (*1992, Spanien) erhält den Deutschen Dirigentenpreis 2019.
Der Preis ist mit 15.000 € dotiert und wurde von der Stadt Köln (10.000 €) und den privaten Kölner Stiftern Sybil und Kaspar Kraemer, Kit und Dr. Klaus Piehler gestiftet. Unter den 12 Kandidatinnen/en aus aller Welt hatten sich außerdem Gábor Hontvári (*1993, Ungarn) und Chloé van Soeterstède (*1988, Frankreich) für das Finale durchgesetzt.
Gábor Hontvári erhielt den 2. Preis, der mit 10.000 € dotiert ist und von der Ernsting Stiftung Alter Hof Herding gestiftet wurde. Den mit 5.000 € dotierten 3. Preis erhielt Chloé van Soeterstède, gestiftet vom Internationalen Kurt Masur Institut.
Julio Garcia Vico wins German Conductor Award
In the final concert of the German Conductors’ Award today on 18 October 2019 in the Cologne Philharmonic, the decision has been made: Julio García Vico (* 1992, Spain) receives the German Conducting Award 2019.
The prize is endowed with € 15,000 and was awarded by the City of Cologne (€ 10,000) and the private donors in Cologne, Sybil and Kaspar Kraemer, Kit and Dr. med. Klaus Piehler donated. Gábor Hontvári (* 1993, Hungary) and Chloé van Soeterstède (* 1988, France) were also among the 12 candidates from all over the world.
Gábor Hontvári received the 2nd prize, worth € 10,000, donated by the Ernsting Stiftung Alter Hof Herding. The € 5,000 prize was awarded to Chloé van Soeterstède, donated by the International Kurt Masur Institute.
