Ensemble Resonanz
Ensemble Resonanz will release their new album, ‘Tenebre’, in collaboration with composer Bryce Dessner, on October 11 2019. A rich and complex body of artistry, the album showcases the interchange between experimental classical music and contemporary club culture.
Since its inception in 1994, Ensemble Resonanz has been attracting new fans with their re-defining projects, creating compelling, contemporary arrangements of classical and contemporary music. Today, the ensemble has firmly established itself as one of the world’s leading chamber orchestras, celebrated for their bold musical statements and the way in which they take music to the extreme.
In addition to his work as lead guitarist and songwriter of The National, Bryce Dessner is equally recognised for his work as a composer, having collaborated on orchestral, chamber and vocal projects with artists including Paul Simon, Sufjan Stevens, Philip Glass and Steve Reich among others. His compositions have been commissioned by Los Angeles Philharmonic, Metropolitan Museum of Art, The New York Philharmonic, Kronos Quartet and Carnegie Hall.
‘Tenebre’ includes a selection of Bryce’s compositions entirely rearranged and recomposed for the ensemble, such as his famous compositions ‘Aheym’ and ‘Tenebre’ created for the Kronos Quartet. The release also features the world premier recording of ‘Skrik’, commissioned by Steve Reich and Carnegie Hall for the composer’s 80th birthday.
WildKat is working with Ensemble Resonanz and Bryce Dessner to create press coverage around the release of ‘Tenebre’, across the territories of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the UK.
