Gstaad Menuhin Festival & Academy

Festival

Having worked with Gstaad for the last 6 years, we very much look forward to working with the festival again for the 2020 edition.

Founded in 1957 by Yehudi Menuhin, the Gstaad Menuhin Festival & Academy takes place annually with an impressive feat of around 50 concerts in churches, mountain stations, glaciers, airfield hangars and the famous festival tent. The Menuhin Festival has grown substantially over the years, now with the Gstaad Festival Orchestra and Gstaad Academy for young professionals, and the 2014 launch of the Gstaad Conducting Academy. With extensive master classes and a plethora of internationally renowned soloists, chamber musicians and conductors, 2019 was another outstanding year in the festival’s history.

We’ve worked with Gstaad Menuhin Festival, the annual classical music festival, for 6 years now. They enlisted our help to secure attendance from UK journalists at Gstaad, in order to generate coverage and ultimately increase awareness of their festival, which brings the highest quality of music to the Swiss Alps every summer.

Over the last 6 years, we’ve obtained a variety of coverage for the festival: We secured a Daily Telegraph feature by the journalist and presenter Suzy Klein, fixed 3 Classic FM Full Works concerts and placed previews in The Spectator and The Metro. We’ve also established a collaboration between the festival and Kirker Travel agency and organised press events at the Swiss embassy in London, Berlin and Paris, which included inviting press.

Results in 2019:

  • Attendance at the festival by Classic FM, who then shared online articles, social media posts and newsletters about the festival with their audience of over 5.5 million
  • Attendance at the Paris press conference from two of the most prestigious UK classical music magazines who subsequently creating coverage around it: Classical Music Magazine and International Arts Manager
  •  5.6 million for Classic FM radio, where we arranged placements of two recordings from the festival for ‘The Full Works Concert’ programme for the third year in a row
