Jo Quail

Cellist and Composer

London based artist Jo Quail draws upon classical, rock and metal influences, creating music that connects with and unites a very diverse audience of classical and rock and metal fans. As a cellist and composer, Jo is heavily influenced by the music of Bach, Debussy, Tavener and Bartok, as well as contemporary artists such as Adrian Vandenberg, Trent Reznor and Perry Farrell. She incorporates looping technology into her music, allowing her to experiment with her instrument and test the boundaries of her music.

Jo was musically trained from a very young age and completed her BA in performance at the University of Leeds. She has since collaborated with various musicians and has studied with renowned cellist and composer Gwyn Pritchard. Jo began embarking upon her solo career in 2010, and has since released two albums; From The Sea (2011) and Caldera (2014) with great success. As well as performing extensively in the UK, Jo has performed in Denmark, Sweden, Holland, Belgium, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Japan.
