Yesterday, acclaimed flautist Katherine Bryan appeared on BBC Radio 3 ‘In Tune’ to talk about her latest projects and performances including the release of her new album of American Concertos on Linn Records. She performed Debussy’s ‘Syrinx’, the first movement Copland’s ‘Duo’ and Schoenfield’s ‘Achat Sha’alti’, all of which can be found on the disc.
Katherine discussed her love of American repertoire, including the story of how she came to play the rarely heard ‘Flute Concerto’ by Christopher Rouse. She also examined the technical elements of her instrument, and spoke of her experiences when visiting Japan.
