Life of late: violinist Daniel Hope

Wednesday 31st July 2013

Acclaimed violinist and WildKat PR client Daniel Hope has enjoyed a busy musical life of late: appearing at the BBC Proms on Monday (29th July) performing Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No.2 with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales under the baton of Thomas Søndergård; giving a masterclass to budding young musicians at Royal Albert Hall; and featuring as a guest on BBC Radio 3’s ‘In Tune’, as well as being followed by a BBC Television crew.

Daniel’s performance at BBC Proms on Monday was highly praised, being described by the Guardian as being ‘dexterous, witty and intense’. The build up to the performance saw Daniel travelling all over the UK to rehearse in Cardiff and appear on BBC One’s Breakfast programme based in Salford. At the same time, Daniel was followed by a BBC Television crew, producing a behind-the-scenes insight in to life for a Proms artist, which will be broadcasted on the new BBC Two Proms Extra programme on August 10th.

And the hectic schedule didn’t end there! Yesterday saw Daniel giving a masterclass to young musicians at Royal Albert Hall and appeared on Radio 3’s ‘In Tune’ ahead of his performance at the inaugural Bristol Proms this evening, where he’ll perform Max Richter’s Vivaldi Recomposed with unique visuals that respond to the live performance created by Play Nicely.

Daniel’s interview on BBC Breakfast is available to view here. Also, catch up with Daniel’s Prom on iPlayer or on BBC Four this Sunday (4th August).
