It has been revealed that Max Richter has won a Deutschen Filmkritik Prize in the category of ‘Beste Filmmusik’ (Best Film Musik) for the film ‘Die Fremde’ (February 2010).
‘Die Fremde’, which deals with honour killings amongst a Turkish family in Germany, was also nominated for six other Filmkritik awards (Best Feature Film, Best Feature Film Debut, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Actress, specifically for star Sibel Kekilli), and is also in the running for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars.
Max was awarded his prize last night at the Deutschen Bank Berlin.
