The Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel is one of the most exclusive centres of musical excellence in Europe, and is renowned for its elite intake and output. The biannual ‘Music Voyage’ is a luxury cruise across Europe and North America which aims to give music aficionados an inside look at the life of the Queen Elisabeth Music chapel. Promising a superb spirit of companionship and an intensity of musical experience difficult to find elsewhere, there is no doubt that this Autumn’s voyage will be remarkable.
Today, ‘The Silver Wind,’ the vessel for this year’s voyage, set off on a journey which will include Barcelona, Majorca, the Aeolian Islands and Rome before arriving home on Tuesday 24th September. Two first class concerts will take place every day, one on board and one in a stunning venue along the route. In addition, the enthusiastic audience can look forward to an insider’s look at meetings, rehearsals and master classes. Masters and young soloists from the music chapel will be accompanied by the Sinfonia Varsovia, conducted by renowned British conductor Christopher Warren-Green. ‘The Silver Wind’ offers travellers excellent facilities, including a variety of restaurants, a library, casino, show lounge, conference room, pool, fitness centre, spa and an observation lounge.
Below is a video showing highlights from the 2007 voyage. This week’s voyage promises to be an equally exceptional musical experience.
