We are delighted to welcome the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) as a brand-new client.

World-renowned as a center for excellence, with an incredible track record of graduate employment in theatre, film, television and radio, just some of RADA’s hugely successful graduates include Kenneth Branagh, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Cynthia Erivo, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Fiona Shaw, Alan Rickman, David Harewood, Michael Sheen, Mike Leigh, Sophie Okonedo, Maxine Peake, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Jessie Buckley, amongst many others.

WildKat is especially thrilled to be working with RADA on a very special event to be held in New York this week – the presentation of an Honorary Fellowship to legendary music theatre composer Stephen Sondheim.

The Pulitzer, Tony, Oscar, and Grammy award winner will accept his Fellowship from Director of RADA Edward Kemp at The British Residence in Manhattan on Wednesday, November 13. The event, hosted by the British Consul-General Antony Phillipson, will feature a performance by recent RADA graduate Jamie Bogyo.

The prestigious Fellowship celebrates individuals who have made a significant impact and contribution to RADA, to drama training, or to the wider industry, with six fellows appointed since 2018 including actors Glenda Jackson and Sir Anthony Hopkins, as well as producer Thelma Holt.

RADA has strong associations with Sondheim, not least through high-profile graduates such as Imelda Staunton CBE, Dame Diana Rigg, Adrian Lester OBE, Henry Goodman, and Dame Siân Phillips, whose interpretations of his work have become the stuff of legend. Each year RADA students stage musicals, frequently by Sondheim, and RADA students vie to win the annual Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year.

WildKat is working with RADA to create a very special event. And on the eve of the great man’s 90th birthday in early 2020, with a slew of major revivals of his work, plus concerts and galas, the timing of this latest honor in his hometown seems even more appropriate.
